These days we are all aware of the “Fun Run” craze. Have you ever joined one? I was able to participate in MILO Fun Run and for a first timer to run the 5K course, I can say it’s fulfilling. I was able to get my certificate for completing the course under an hour.
How about changing the usual “Fun Run” into something… Well, more… Fun? Would you join the run when you have a field teeming with zombies chasing you around? That’s what OUTBREAK ZOMBIE FUN RUN is all about. Interested? Read on! This event will be held at Nuvali, Sta. Rosa on April 14th.
What’s this about?
Outbreak Manila was inspired by fun run’s increasing popularity and “Run for your lives”. Commonly in marathons and fun runs, you have to race against time and fellow participants but this time, you are “forced” to run to your fullest to evade from zombies that are out to get your lives. With this in mind, the organizers gave the usual 5K run a fun twist.
How does it work?
At the start of the race, every participant is given 3 flags which will represent their ‘lives”. The goal of the run is to protect your “3 lives” from zombies. Each zombie can only get one flag from you. There no chance that the whole run will only have 3 zombies! Participants are given 2 courses: The Easy Way (fewer zombies, longer course) or The Horde Way (shorter course, more zombies). Only runners who reaches the finish line with 1 life flag will be eligible for prizes. Don’t worry though. If you lose all your health/life flags, you can still finish the race and your time will still be recorded. You will not get the prizes though.

Registration will be open on March 2, 2012 and head over to Toby’s Sports (SM Megamall, MOA, The Block) or Runnr (Alabang Town Center, Bonifacio high Street, Trinoma).
Registration fee of PhP700 is required. Fee will be inclusive of Outbreak Manila Souvenir Shirt, Race Bib, "Life Representing” Flag Belt, Freebies from our Sponsors. Make sure that you are 13 years old and up on race day (those aged 13 to 17 must have parental consent upon registration) and have medical clearance to compete in such an event.
Mark your calendars! April 14, 2012 at Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Get your running shoes ready, prepare for the event and don’t bother bringing pea shooters, walnuts and other zombie-eating plants since THEY WON’T WORK!
